Hong Kong Day 2 - Macau
Hong Kong Day 2, we spent almost the entire day in Macau.
If you have yet to check out Day 1, Click here!
We leave hotel at about 11am and took MTR from Mong Kok to Sheung Wan.
Alight at Sheung Wan MTR and take exit D to Shun Tak Centre (Hong Kong Macau Ferry Terminal).
There is different ship operator which travel to Macau, however we picked on TurboJet. You can also book your tickets online if you want, but buying through counter is pretty simple too.
(up to personal choice)
Bought tickets for 12.30pm from HK to Macau & 7pm back from Macau to HK. Round tickets cost us about $386HKD (per person), to be honest we feel that it is a little overprice so it is encourage if you can stay one night over at Macau.
Estimate an hour ferry ride to Macau and well it is pretty dizzy for us. For people who have serious motion sickness better prepare yourself for the worst huh!
We arrived at Macau Ferry Terminal about 1.30pm, cross over to opposite to take hotel shuttle bus to Grand Libosa hotel and we walk over the Senado Square to explore and for lunch.
First stop, we had Tai Lei Loi Kei 澳门大利来记猪扒包 for lunch as we are extremely hungry.
Just wanting to figure out how different can it be comparing to Singapore outlet.
Pork Chop Polo Bun, MOP $35 (Est SGD $5.85) Pork chop is definitely well marinated but polo bun is a little too soft and the crispy part keep dropping off while eating. Overview taste is pretty average, I don't feel any hype for this. This is too overprice I guess. :(
Fishball Egg Noodle, MOP $35 (Est SGD $5.85) The fishball is so tender and chewy, I love it as it feels like HK cafe style food. But for Fishball noodle is a little expensive huh!
Ham Toast, MOP $18 (Est SGD $3) Extremely normal and ordinary, totally waste of money and calories for this. Pork Chop With Egg Rice, MOP $55? (If I didn't remember wrongly.)
Pork chop is exactly the one as the bun, but the sauce for the rice is really good. Combination of Pork Chop, Egg, Rice & Onion sauce is perfect!
Overall experience, I think the street food at Macau have better food than this.
You should try their eggtarts, curry fishball and they sell Gongcha too. (HAPPYGIRL)
After lunch, we explored the area and walk towards Ruins of St Paul for shooting!
And after this, we bought lots of almond cookies back from Koi Kei Bakery.
I think that is the shop you cannot miss, grab more food back for family and friends!
Some of it taste really good!
That conclude the end of day 2 with us in Macau!
