Cheese Tart Fight, Bake VS Pablo
There is so many different brands of Cheese Tart, have you tried all of them? And do you have your best choice in mind? With introducing Pablo Cheese Tart awhile ago, I decided to do taste test fight for 2 popular brand in Singapore.
The first few brand of Cheese Tart Franchise, Bake Cheese Tart.
Bake Cheese Tart started in Early/Mid of 2016 where they have their first outlet at Ion Orchard.
When they first started off, the queue took at least 2 hours and limitation for 2 boxes (12pcs) per customer, right now they expanded and have 3 more stores in Singapore (West Gate, Tampines & Nex)
There is no Minimum Quantity for purchase, you can buy from 1pc to maximum 12pcs per customer. 4pcs and above their will allow you to pack them into box.
Crispy Tart Crust is one of the most important factor to them, each crust is baked once and then baked one more time before adding the cheese mousse filling, this ensure the tart crust is crispy and firm.
Adding the fluffy texture of mousse, which is made from original blend of cream cheese and finely tuned to perfection with a hint of salt.
Everytime when we purchase cheese tart we will eat it in different ways, freeze in and chill it.
Taste Test: We tried two different methods to enjoy the tarts, we freeze 1 tart and another one at normal temperature. In our opinion, we love the cheese tart after freezing it, it taste like cheese icecream, Smooth, Rich and not too cheesy, you dont get too sick despite it's a cheese tart.
I would say they have the best crust, firm and solid, every bite is so tasty. We love It.
However, when you eat it at normal temperature it will be another different feeling, it is much cheesy without freezing it. So depending on your love towards cheese to gauge how you suppose to keep your tarts.
& Yes, recently they just release a new flavour, LEMON CHEESE TART.
Pretty nice and refreshing, go get it now! However slightly expensive than original tarts.
Next Up: Pablo Mini Cheese Tart
Pablo Cheese Tart, also branded as "The most famous cheese tart from Japan" Many claims that they have the best cheese tart and it is a must try when you visit Japan, and some also mention the cheese tart in Singapore & Japan is kind of different. How true is all this? Hmm.
Being new in Singapore, there is only one store and located at Wisma Atria, Orchard Road. It is totally a cafe style unlike Bake where you buy and take home to share, about 1400 square feet and can fit up to 60-80 customer at one go.
Since, it just a pure cheese tart fight so we decided to get the mini cheese tart which is the closest comparison for Bake cheese tart.
As usual, we have one a room temperature and another freezing it.
It is so much cheesy and buttery as compare to Bake Cheese Tart, I could feel the strong taste/smell of butter, have no idea whether it comes from the crust or the cheese filling.
Crust taste like wholemeal/digestive biscuit, not firm enough and brittle crust, pretty disappointed.
However after freezing it, the cheese and crust become firmer, the cheese no longer feel like mousse. I prefer freezing Pablo before eating it, it seems to taste better that way!
But we would agree they have quite good balance in the cheese and butter, dont mistaken it as spoil as the taste is a little unique and different from Bake.
After trying two major brands, personally I prefer Bake Cheese Tart.
I love their firm and solid crust, and the freezing Icecream like cheese filling, I never get sick having them. What about you? Xoxo,
Andrea
