Hokkaido Ice Cream Puff Singapore - Haji Lane
I am sucker when it comes to things from Japan, regardless Food, Products and many more, I find them too amazing to miss it.
In early 2017, the famous Hokkaido Ice Cream Puff arrive in Singapore, having their first store at Haji Lane. Despite having the name of Hokkaido Ice-cream Puff, they are actually originated from Malaysia, with it's own unique style they have franchise stores located in Singapore, Malaysia & Brunei.
A strong pastries lingering in the air upon your first step into the stall, heard from it all puffs are freshly baked to ensure the level of crispiness.
Best of all is that regardless what flavour you choose, all puffs are set at S$3.90 each.
Initially i thought they will serve unique Japanese flavour Ice-cream like Azuki red bean and Melon however to my surprise they offer the typical Singapore style Ice-cream flavour such as Matcha(The only one that resemble Japan/Hokkaido), Mint Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Chip, Cookie & Cream, Vanilla and a few more.
With price at $3.90, don't expect to have fantastic/unique/special Ice-cream like other cafes, it just taste like what I used to have outside my primary/secondary school bicycle uncle Ice-cream. As for the puff, it is really crispy as mention however there is no WOW factor in it or anyway resemble/remind me of Hokkaido.
Tips for eating the puff:
1. Use the scoop provided to eat the ice-cream first
2. Once it is half full, gently flatten both sides of puff together
3. And lastly, Eat it like Ice Cream Burger
