The Punggol Containers - Big Fish Small Fish

In February 2017 Container Eateries Concept had arrived in Punggol Tebing Lane, similar concept like Bangkok Art box where you find many eateries and place to chill.

There are about 7 eateries/restaurant over there, Big Fish Small Fish, Pump Station Bar and Bistro, Seoul Good Dessert and Coffee, D'Grill, Leung Kee Healthy Dessert, Boost @ Banks & L'Chaim Bistro or maybe even more as of today. The entire area is set up with cargo containers and wooden furniture however the seating space is pretty limited, be prepared to queue and fight for seats.

The vibrant colours of blue and yellow signage of Big Fish Small Fish will catch your attention from far, you are also expect to queue and serve yourself as they adopt a lot of self service concept.

Food at Big Fish Small Fish are towards British style of Fish And Chips, where you get to choose the different kinds of fish and chips is really potato chips. Being the typical Singapore we opt for Yellow Fin for the first try.

While waiting for seats and your food, you will find a self service counter where they offer free flow and wide range of dipping sauce for your food. Starting from Chili, Salted Egg Sauce, Cheese, Mayonnaise and many more, you are spoilt for choice. My personal favourite is still cheese after trying so many.

We waited 10 minutes for seats and another 10 minutes for food.

Yellow Fin With Chips, SGD $7.90 Salted Egg Yolk Calamari With Bonito Flakes, SGD $7.90

Due to long wait of seats and food, we would conclude the Yellow Fin & Chips is pretty normal and I think it is too oily for my liking. Maybe we pick the wrong choice of fish as the fish is not tender enough and a little bland for us. However the Salted Egg Yolk Calamari is pretty awesome, it's definite a great snack choice, I actually love it.

Overview:

Ambience: 3.5/5 Pretty crowded during weekends but great place as you are close to river and park, you can take a slow walk by the park after fulfilling dinner.

Food: 2.5/5 To spend so much effort, time to queue I think it is not really very worth it to make a trip here, unless you stay opposite Punggol containers. I think they have better sides than main.

Price: 3/5

Price wise I think is still pretty sensible for $6.90 - $15.90 for fish & chip, pretty average pricing.

Maybe you can try out other restaurant, I am pretty keen in the seoul food though.

Maybe the next time, see you soon <3
