Macau Pork Chop Bun, Tai Lei Loi Kei 大利来记

Hong Kong, the place I yearn to visit. While saving and planning for my Hong Kong trip I love to explore Hong Kong cafe in Singapore and gather the food tasting experience to do comparison when I really visit Hong Kong.

Almost every area of Hong Kong there is always a popular/must try food, lets say Australian Dairy Company(Jordan), Mak’s Noodle(Central), Pork Bun/Egg Tart(Macau), Curry Fishball on street and many more.

So the first stop, we visited Tai Lei Lok Kei 大利来记 at Nex, which is well known for their Pork Chop Bun and other Hong Kong food. Let's see what we have gotten during our visit,

Bouncy Curry Noodles With Pork Chop, SGD $7.90

Curry gravy soaked with Wanton Noodle, Pork Chop & Sunshine Egg.

Pork Chop is well marinated, gravy is a little thiner than what we expected and wanton noodles don't really absorb the gravy well enough however overall is still acceptable because the pricing is on the affordable range.

*Maybe it could be better with maggie noodle which likely absorb the gravy?* (JUST WONDERING)

Bouncy Noodle With Chicken Wing, SGD $7.90 Fried Chicken Wing with Wanton Noodle and sunshine egg. Chicken wing is so crispy and well marinated, it is that kind of chicken wing where kids will definitely love them and finish them up. I personally love this dish, well done for this pricing!

Marmite Chicken Chop Rice With Egg,

Out of surprise this turn out to be really good and tasty, fatty love this so much and saying he would totally come back again just for this. It feels like the "ZIchar" style of rice set which well marinated, sauce is sweet and addictive. Worth it for this!

Salted Egg Sauce With Chicken Rice Set,

Salted egg sauce coated with fried chicken bites & sunshine egg, salted egg sauce is a little spicy to me which distracted my taste bud for salted egg sauce however fried chicken bites is tender and crispy it will definitely be better if lesser chilli padi was used for the sauce. People who can take spicy I think you might love this.

Signature Pork Chop Bun & Curry Fishball, SGD $6.90 & SGD $4.90 Pork chop is well marinated and tender, I think they actually used the same pork chop for the curry noodles. I would like to try the Polo Pork Chop Bun in the future because it look so damn good.

As for curry fishball, grave is a little thin and watery, good point is the gravy is not too spicy.

Overall opinion,

Taste: 3.5/5

Price: 4/5

Variation/Choices: 4/5

Worth it: 4/5 (I would like to come back to try other food)

Go try and share with me what you think is the best, totally can't wait for one day where I get to travel to Hong Kong and hunt for food. *HUNGRYYYY*
