DBS Innovates, DBS the brand where you see everywhere in Singapore and I believe everyone have at least one account with them. Despite being the most common named bank, DBS constantly improve themselves and keep up to the current technology trend and try their best to bring more convenience and making life simpler for all.
There is a major trend of combining food and technology together with Paylah. Paylah bring so much convenience to me, it is a cashless payment method and I love it.
Hawker Ng Kok Hua, who sells Ngoh Hiang "China Street Fritters" the old school way at Maxwell Food Market have decided to participate and join the DBS mobile wallet DBS PayLah.
Customers simply scan the QR code displayed at the merchant location using their PayLah application, type in the amount required and send it to their account and business owners will then receive an immediate payment notification to inform.
This initiative plan of DBS is to boost the adoption of cashless payments, as many small businesses feedback that collecting money and returning change from table to table also wastes valuable time. At the end of the day, they still need to specially travel and waste to bank in.

The PayLah! QR code payment mode also has low barriers to entry. Consumers and merchants only need a Singapore bank account to send or receive funds, and at no cost.
Most people feedback they will require time to accept this, however being in a digital world we will eventually get used to it one day. Be prepared to be cashless for food and everything soon.
