The Place For Gyoza - Burosu Honten Gyoza & Ramen
During the journey of hunting good ramen in Singapore you might find some pretty average ramen but they are super specialised at their other side dishes like Gyoza. AND YES, I found this place which serves really good Gyoza, if you are a Gyoza fan you should catch them, Burosu Honten Gyoza & Ramen
Burosu Honten Gyoza & Ramen appeared in Japanese WAttention Magazine and that explains our visit to this restaurant, it is located within the zone of Marina Square Emporium Shokuhin where previously I had Gyuu + Yakiniku Grill.
Address: 6 Raffles Boulevard, Marina Square
#01-18 Singapore 039594
Emporium Shokuhin, Zone 7 (Which is near to the grocery area)
Burosu have this unique ordering method where you get to customise your own ramen.
Step 1: You will need to choose your Ramen Broth
Step 2: Choose the Saltiness Level of your Broth
Step 3: Spicy Level
Step 4: Noodle Texture
So I picked Tonkotsu Miso with the normal saltiness, none spicy and Medium texture noodle as the start, because I think this is the standard level to test ordinary ramen taste.
Taste Test, remember I started off mentioning that average ramen taste but with incredible Gyoza? Yes, you should know how I would rate this. The soup was pretty good and acceptable, however for the first mouth of noodle I was pretty disappointed, the noodles seems to be cook separate from the broth where I don't feel the noodle being well soaked with the broth. I would say Soup is soup and noodle is noodle, they are like separated in this particular bowl which makes me feel a little upset. Chef might need to take note of this, I hope this will be better in the future.
Apart from this, Char Siew is big and good in portion for this price, but is it a little too thick and hard as compare to all the different ramen store I tried. Definitely have lots of improvement area.
For the above ordered ramen it cost SGD $14.80 (Which comes with 2 Charsiew)
What amazed me is, they have fantastic Gyoza. We ordered Wagyu Beef Gyoza With Mentaiko Garlic Sauce(This was a special dish out of menu) & Gyoza in Spicy Sauce.
The Wagyu Beef Gyoza was so good, beef is firm and well marinated mixing with the sauce which creates a bomb in the first mouth, I swear I love this.
As for Gyoza in spicy sauce, it reminds me of a Chinese Dumpling in Spicy Sauce from Ding Tai Fung, pretty similar concept but this is with a little Vinegar I guess, which is more towards less spicy and sour with the Gyoza.
This two is so highly recommended by Fatty & I, I think they are specialised in Gyoza rather than Ramen. Gyoza lover, this is your place.
